THE AGENCY JOURNEY   Who will take care of your clients next? Everything has a “life cycle” – including agencies and their owners. Every agency will eventually perpetuate at the retirement, disability or death of its owners. Yet few agencies adequately prepare for perpetuation and even fewer understand the principles of valuation and the options available to them when it comes to succession or perpetuation. Whether you are a Baby Boomer looking forward to retirement, or a Generation X’er in the position to succeed that Boomer, or a Millennial with aspirations, Al Diamond will illustrate the agency journey and show what options are available to achieve the goals of the perpetuator, the successor and the staff and clients of the agency.

THE DIGITAL TSUNAMI  What do consumers require from agents in today's smartphone age? The vast majority of independent agents and brokers in the U.S. need to embrace and optimize customer-facing digital technology. Most insurance buyers expect it and failure to do so can drain agency value and cede business to competitors. Tom Wetzel will show you how the digital marketplace affects insurance buyers and agents; provide guidelines to help you assess the effectiveness of your agency’s digital footprint, and outline best practices in delivering your services with the digital tools that consumers use.

SERIOUS INSURANCE GAMES   Every time you answer the phone or reply to a client’s email, you are “on the line.” Of all the tests you took since you started grade school, giving information to an insurance prospect or client may be the most important test you take! Wrong information can lose a client, cause an E&O claim for your agency, cost you the respect of an underwriter, or cause your client real financial harm. Insurance is serious stuff!  But, that doesn’t mean we can’t have some serious fun as Virginia Bates tests your knowledge and discusses solutions. Come to Education Day prepared to compete and have some fun in this highly interactive, game show - themed E&O Loss Control workshop!
