WASHINGTON — Members of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) will bring Main Street to Capitol Hill when they convene March 25-26 in Washington, D.C., for the 2015 PIA Federal Legislative Summit (FLS).
PIA National's newly-redesigned monthly magazine, PIA Connection, was presented with the prestigious 2014 Gold MarCom Award by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The annual international awards competition recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.
"The MarCom Awards define the standard for excellence in marketing, advertising and branding," said PIA National Executive Vice President & CEO Mike Becker. "It is especially gratifying to have our publications recognized along with the best in all industries." PIA has also received MarCom awards in previous years in recognition of its publications as well as the PIA Branding Program.
Presentation of the 2014 MarCom Award recognizes the recent redesign of PIA Connection, with a new look that is cleaner, crisper and more contemporary. The magazine was expanded and its editorial focus broadened. PIA Connection celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2015. In addition, the PIA National Agency Marketing Guide received an Honorable Mention in the 2014 MarCom competition.
The National Insurance Crime Bureau's (NICB's) "Hot Wheels" list of the top 10 most stolen cars in 2013 found the Honda Accord was the most stolen vehicle, but the report also found that a majority of the 53,000 stolen Accords were built in the 1990s. Cars that were eight years or older dominated the list of most stolen cars, and very few recent vehicles made the list. Moreover, the overall rate of auto theft has declined, and some contend that is tied to advancements in anti-theft technology, such as an immobilizer that prevents cars from starting unless the driver uses a key that is recognized by the computer network.
